From cutting to adult plant 

1. Stolk’s cultivation method starts with the roots. The 10-week-old baby plants arrive at our nursery as plug plants, which we carefully plant in our well-known white pots.

2. The little plants spend the next 10 weeks snuggled up together so that they can develop good roots.

3. Good roots are the foundation of optimum quality. We cultivate our plants in an expertly selected soil mixture, almost exclusively using pure natural products so that the plants develop that extra bit of vitality. 

4. Every time they are watered, the plants are given a small dose of an organic cocktail that activates the soil itself. This ensures that all the nutrients are put to optimal use, guaranteeing the quality that Stolk is famous for. Slowly but surely, the plants grow bigger. 

5. The plants are now 30 weeks old. They have developed plenty of flowers and strong leaves. Now, we give them a bit more time to reach full maturity.

6. At this point, the plant has been pampered in Stolk’s greenhouse for 36 weeks. The finishing touch is a meticulous inspection of each individual plant, making sure that our consumers can enjoy our plants for that much longer. We even guarantee that the plants will remain in flower for 365 days minimum!

Weekly watering

Anthuriums are a lot like people: they love natural light, but harsh, direct sunlight is not kind to them. Give them 200 ml of lukewarm water every week – it is important to avoid flooding the roots. Anthuriums do not like drafts and cold at all, so make sure to keep the ambient temperature above 16 degrees Celsius.
